AI Advisory is a second-opinion review for selected malware findings on PowerSEC protection plans.
What AI Advisory does
AI Advisory reviews selected findings that PowerSEC's malware scanner has already flagged. It can add an advisory label such as likely malicious, suspicious, likely false positive, inconclusive, or needs human review.
What AI Advisory does not do
AI Advisory does not scan your whole site or every file. It does not replace the scanner. It does not change your security score, malware counts, threat level, or scanner results. It does not remove, quarantine, suppress, or repair files.
Which plans include AI Advisory
AI Advisory is included with:
- Pro Protection
- Pro + Backup Plus
- Agency
Free and Backup Only do not include AI Advisory. Those plans can upgrade to a protection plan to unlock it.
Turning it on
Automatic AI review is off until a site administrator turns it on in WordPress: PowerSEC → Central Connection → AI review of flagged files → Allow automatic AI review of flagged files. Your plan and PowerSEC's settings cannot turn it on for you, and turning it off stops future sharing. You can also ask for a one-off explanation of a single flagged file without turning it on.
What is sent, and to whom
The review is done by Google Gemini, through PowerSEC Central. For each selected file, PowerSEC sends:
- a bounded excerpt of the flagged file — at most 16,000 characters, sampled from the start, middle and end — with passwords, keys, tokens and email addresses redacted first
- the file's path
- the rule that matched and the scanner's risk score
Whole files, whole sites, databases, and files that may hold credentials (such as wp-config.php, .env and key or certificate files) are never sent. Reviews are budget-capped per site per day and per month, and a file that was already reviewed is not sent again.
How to read an AI Advisory result
AI Advisory results are advisory only.
A result such as "likely false positive" does not suppress the scanner's finding.
A result such as "likely malicious" can support your review, but it does not create a new malware count by itself.
Upgrade path
If your current plan does not include AI Advisory, upgrade the site from Billing or contact support.
