Managing your subscription

Manage your PowerSEC subscription, payment methods, and invoices from the /dashboard/billing page.

Viewing your current plan

Dashboard → Billing shows:

  • Current plan (Free / Pro / Agency)
  • Billing cycle (monthly / annual)
  • Next billing date + amount
  • Payment method on file

Upgrading

  1. Dashboard → Billing → Plans tab
  2. Compare plans
  3. Click Upgrade to Pro (or Agency)
  4. Choose billing cycle (annual saves ~17%)
  5. Enter / confirm payment method
  6. Click Subscribe
  7. Upgrade is immediate — Pro features unlock right away

If you're upgrading mid-cycle, you're charged a prorated amount (only the days remaining at the new rate).

Downgrading

  1. Same flow — click Switch to lower plan
  2. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle (no refund)
  3. Until then, you keep all your current plan features
  4. After the cycle ends, you're moved to the new plan

If you downgrade and exceed the new plan's limits (e.g., Pro → Free with 50 sites), you have 30 days to reduce site count or some sites get archived.

Changing payment method

  1. Billing → Payment methods → Add new
  2. Enter card details (or use Apple Pay / Google Pay)
  3. Optionally: Set as default
  4. Old card stays on file until you remove it

We use Stripe for payments. We never see or store your full card number.

Failed payments

If a payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds):

  1. We try again 3 times over 7 days
  2. You receive email notifications each time
  3. After 7 days of failure, your account enters grace period (14 days)
  4. During grace, all features keep working but a banner reminds you
  5. After grace expires, your account downgrades to Free (your data is preserved)

To resolve: update your payment method ASAP.

Canceling

  1. Billing → Cancel subscription
  2. Choose reason (helps us improve)
  3. Confirm

What happens after canceling:

  • You keep paid features until the end of your current billing cycle
  • After that, your account downgrades to Free
  • All your sites stay connected and protected (with Free-tier features)
  • All your data is preserved (we don't delete anything)
  • You can resubscribe anytime to restore Pro features

Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first payment of a new annual plan. After 30 days or for monthly plans, refunds are case-by-case.

To request a refund:

  • Email support@powersec.io with your account email and reason
  • We typically respond within 1 business day
  • Approved refunds appear in 5-10 business days on your card

Invoices

Dashboard → Billing → Invoice history lists all past invoices. Each invoice can be:

  • Downloaded as PDF
  • Emailed to a different address (e.g., your accountant)
  • Customized with your company tax ID (Billing → Tax info)
